Event Sales – Corporate and Social

We are currently accepting resumes for the position of Corporate Event Specialist for The Madison Event Center.  A driven individual with successful sales experience and strong prospecting skills to positively impact corporate sales.

Responsibilities

  • Solicit new and existing clients to meet and exceed sales goals through aggressive prospecting, outside sales calls, site visits and networking events
  • Negotiate and contract leads generated from various sources
  • Work with management to define a sales strategy for corporate and social events
  • Maintain and manage relationships with existing accounts
  • Coordinate and communicate event details such as menu, timeline, and floor plan
  • Assist with planning and executing company semi-monthly, semi-annual and annual events
  • Develop and manage relationships with affiliated vendors and clients
  • Work cohesively with other members of sales team and other departments
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • College degree from an accredited university (major in Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Event Planning or a related field is preferred)
  • 2+ years of successful sales experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced organization
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work effectively on a team
  • Proficiency with Caterease (or similar software) and Social Tables
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Advanced knowledge of market trends and competition
  • Ability to work occasional weekends and weeknight evenings as needed

Full-Time Receptionist/ Sales Support

July 24th 2017

We are currently accepting applications for the position of Receptionist / Sales Support for The Madison Event Center.

Responsibilities

  • Answer telephones, screen and direct calls, schedule appointments
  • Front desk coverage Tuesday – Saturday 9-5 (and arrange coverage for any time during this period when unable to be at front desk)
  • Greet customers and vendors entering facility and direct to correct destination
  • Enter customer data
  • Process customer payments
  • Manage payment reminders and minimize past-due payments
  • Follow up on leads generated from various sources
  • Manage schedules of sales consultants
  • Assist with company bi-weekly, semi-annual and annual events
  • Perform planning of events as directed
  • Assist customer and vendor drop offs
  • Receive and sort mail
  • All other duties assigned

Requirements

  • College degree from an accredited university (major, minor, or focus in Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Event Planning or a related field is preferred but not required)
  • Successful sales experience is preferred but not required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced organization
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work effectively on a team
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of Outlook and PowerPoint is beneficial

Banquet Server

Performs various banquet and event functions including but not limited to greeter, server, bartender, passing hors d’ oeuvres or drinks, reception busser, buffet runner, dishwasher and table set-up to ensure that we exceed the expectations of our clients and their guests.

  • Set up, tear down, and clean banquet areas for events.
  • Work as a team member to ensure a successful banquet event following guidelines and all other details of our policies and procedures regarding the service of food and beverage.
  • Report to work on time and in full uniform.
  • Scheduling flexibility including ability to work weekends and holidays based upon business needs.
  • Willing to work until the job is complete and do task outside of original job description.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Able to work at a fast pace in often crowded/noisy environment.
  • Must meet professional appearance standards as prescribed by company policy.
  • Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
  • The position requires the ability to lift up to 30 lbs, push or pull up to 150 lbs on a pushcart. Must handle heat from cooking appliances, glassware and washing machines. Ability to talk, hear, and communicate effectively with guests. Ability to stand for duration of shift, walk frequently, bend and/or reach with or without assistance.

Bartender

Performs responsible, legal alcohol service, including checking identification, correct orders per guest requests, notify a supervisor/manager regarding cutting off service of alcohol, etc. – Must be Serv-Safe certified.

  • Must meet professional appearance standards as prescribed by company policy.
  • The position requires the ability to lift up to 30 lbs, push or pull up to 150 lbs on a pushcart. Must handle heat from cooking appliances, glassware and washing machines. Ability to talk, hear, and communicate effectively with guests. Ability to stand for duration of shift, walk frequently, bend and/or reach with or without assistance.

Dishwasher

Each dishwasher’s primary objective is to provide a clean and safe kitchen area for our staff. Wash and clean tableware, pots, pans and cooking equipment. Keep the dishroom and equipment clean and organized.

  • Attend all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
  • Report to work on time.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Team Leader or Managers.
  • Be able to work is a fast paced kitchen environment.
  • Be able to work in a hot, wet, humid and loud environment for long periods of time.
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
